The Indus or Harappan script is the earliest writing system of the Indian subcontinent and was in use from 2500 to 1900 BCE. The findings are essentially limited to individual characters or groups of a few characters, so it is unclear whether this already constituted a complete writing system.
Die Indus- oder Harappa-Schrift ist die erste Schrift des indischen Subkontinents und wurde von 2500 bis 1900 v.d.Z. verwendet. Die Funde beschränken sich im Wesentlichen auf einzelne Zeichen oder Gruppen von wenigen Zeichen, sodass unklar ist, ob es sich bereits um eine vollständige Schrift handelt.
