The Laṇḍā script was widely used in the Indian Punjab and in Sindh, Pakistan. The scripts that succeeded it are referred to as »Laṇḍā scripts«. The name means »without a tail«, which refers to the absence of the rekhā in this script family.
Die Schrift Laṇḍā war im indischen Punjab und im Pakistanischen Sindh weit verbreitet. Die Nachfolge-Schriften werden als »Laṇḍā-Schriften« bezeichnet. Der Name bedeutet »ohne Schwanz«, was sich auf die fehlende Rekhā dieser Schriftfamilie bezieht.
